George Scholz founded Sawtooth Enterprises Inc. in the late 1970's and worked in custom framing and home building in Santa Barbara, California, Denver, Colorado, as well as Sandpoint, Idaho building custom log structures, timber frame buildings, and ICF structures. George came to Northern New Mexico, where his wife is from, to build a log home for the developer of the Pendaries subdivision in 1984. After many requests to do more homes he decided to relocate to the Las Vegas, NM area. He has completed more than 100 projects throughout San Miguel County over the past 29 years. Sawtooth began to get involved in "green" structures in the mid 1990s before the term "green" was well known. They have been a regional sales rep for various ICF products and have built over 20 ICF structures as well as homes of adobe and straw bale. Sawtooth does small projects and repairs, remodeling, and turn key homes from the ground up. They also do consultation and assist homeowners in developing any size project they need from design, blueprints, permits, and construction needs.
